At Medly, we combine free, same-day prescription delivery with expert, always-on customer care. Our employees work to provide accessible and personalized care to each of our patients, and to extend that care beyond the doctor’s office.
This week, we’d love to highlight another member of this important team – Pharmacy Ops Manager, Na’Velle Lee. Read below to find out more about Na’Velle and his background, interests, and journey to Medly!
I have lived in Penns Grove, NJ, for most of my life. In my spare time, I love to bowl, record podcasts, and hang out with my friends. In the past, I interned at a radio station. I love to travel, especially to the west coast. To wind down, I like to hip-hop dance in my house. I may not be the best dancer, but I love spending time busting a move.
Since 2009, I have taken part in red carpet events for the Daytime Emmy Awards. Every year, I get a chance to spend a week in Los Angeles to interview celebrities. After 10 years I still get nervous. It’s always a rush that I thoroughly enjoy!
I am a huge TV junkie! Binge watching is a hobby of mine. I still need to watch all the new episodes of, “The Handmaids’ Tale,” and I love watching, FRIENDS.
I never thought I would be in such a worthwhile profession. After having the opportunity to take part in this industry, I jumped at the chance. We make such an impact on our patients’ lives, and that, to me is the most gratifying.
I am the Pharmacy Operations Manager at my location. I oversee all the daily operations in the pharmacy and delivery departments, and make sure that everything runs smoothly. From setting up deliveries, to patient interaction, I give my best to help out in any way I can, as well as help to strengthen our team.
One of the things that appealed to me most was their focus on digital and startup mentality. For me, getting the chance to work and implement ideas that will help the company flourish was a definite selling point in coming aboard.
The interaction with management, as well as other colleagues and peers across the country. Seeing how we are able to help each other across the board is great. I have never seen a company where everyone has questions and provides valuable input.
Medly team members build their colleagues and peers up. We make sure all efforts are noticed. I love how we are very supportive of one another and work together as a team. You do not see that in most workplaces, and it’s refreshing.
The interaction with my staff and our patients. It is always great to hear patients speak about their experience with our service. Whether it is finding ways to save on their medications or setting up their vaccine appointments, our patients are very appreciative of our efforts. It’s awesome making our customers happy!
HA! I have a few, but here is one in particular. I had a patient that was setting up their delivery with me, and she said one small thing, which I made a joke on, which sent her into a fit of laughter. While I was trying to get the computer to work, she felt comfortable telling me stories about her broken water heater.
Once everything was complete, she mentioned that it was nice to speak with someone who was uplifting in these trying times, as we never know what is going on at the other end of the phone. What a truly amazing feeling to know how much of an impact we have on our patients. I carry that with me every day.
I LOVE dogs! You don’t understand. I see a dog, I want to pet it! Great danes are my absolute favorite breed. My friends call me the Dog Whisperer, as their dogs take an instant liking to me. I don’t know why, but I dig it!
Favorite food? Spaghetti, no question. Any type of pasta, really. Spaghetti, penne, fettuccine, rigatoni, you name it. I can never give it up.
This question on my favorite movie is such a hard one to answer. I have two, but if I were to pick one? Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I can watch that movie all the time, and not get bored. I even like the soundtrack to the film. John Hughes was such a genius, and literally directed most of my favorite ‘80s flicks. Weird Science is the other one. I had to!
